Lumbar Spine & Pelvis

THE FOUNDATION OF THE SPINE

Manual therapists have become known as back-specialists. Low-back pain is the most common muscular-skeletal condition and can also cause serious neurological disturbance. 

 

In this workshop we explore the structure and function of the lumbar spine and pelvis.  We study the changes that occur during pregnancy, the affects of disc herniations, common anomolies (spondyloythesis) and age-related changes (spondylosis and stenosis).

 

Workshop schedule:

  • Theory ~ 50 mins

  • Coffee ~ 10 mins

  • Practical ~1 hr 20 min

  • Conclusion ~ 10 min

 

At the end of the workshop you will:

  • Understand the structure & function of the lumbar spine & pelvis.

  • Differentiate between joint, disc, muscle, ligamentous conditions.

  • Understand the changes in the spine during pregnancy.

  • Apply new techniques for examining, treating and managing the spine.
